Guest guest
Bethany, I had my lap surgery on 4/12/04. At that time I was 261 and am now 217. I did not have trouble with any creamed soups except for broccoli w/cheese. At first I was nervous because I could eat about half a serving of soup (can of condensed soup plus a can of skim milk). I brought this up with my bariatric nurse and she told me not to worry about it; soup is basically fluid and fluids pretty much go in and pretty quickly go out. I also liked to dress up my cream soups. I found imitation bacon bits that were made out of soy and actually added grams of protein to my soup. As far as being intimate with your boyfriend is concerned, my doc recommended 6 weeks. I am not sure if 6 weeks is too long, but I think that the crucial factors are the health of your incisions. Additionally, I think you need to be careful about the amount of weight you put on your abdomen since your internal organs will continue to have some swelling and will be healing for the full six weeks. Hope this helps some .... Debbie Swansburg jackrussellrunner wrote: I am a 21 year old female from Ohio. I had my lap surgery on 5/27/04. I weighed 259.8 that day and now weigh 243.8. Now I put it in the freezer for an hour and then have a slushy. Feeling better but can't wait until my postop visit Weds. Hopefully then I can drive and move on to soft foods such as cottage cheese, yogurt, fruits, and creamed soups. CAN SOMEONE TELL ME WHICH CREAMED SOUPS PRODUCE A LOT OF GAS SO THAT I CAN AVOID THEM? My next question is when I can be intimate again with my boyfriend. We have been together for the last 4 years and I hope that that time is soon. COULD SOMEONE TELL ME WHEN THEY WERE ABLE TO BE INTIMATE AGAIN AND HAVE FEW PAINS? I know that this is personal and if you would rather e-mail this info to me you can at MSUBeffy19@.... I would appreciate support and answers to my questions and look forward to meeting you all. LASTLY, WHERE CAN I FIND SOME OF YOUR PRE AND POST OP PICS SO THAT I CAN GET AN IDEA OF THE TRANSFORMATION? Hoping to get to know you all soon, Bethany
