Hi Beth,

I live near Tacoma. I have been to three orthodontists here

locally, but have an appointment with Dr West in Seattle for the

orthognathic surgery portion of it. My appointment with Dr West is

April 14th. I have already had the molds made and the films taken.

Do you have a dentist who could refer you to an OD locally?

I am early in my process too. I was told 2 1/2 to 4 years process -

depending. I have not had the pre-op braces put on until I see Dr

West. I wish you luck in your searching!

Hi Beth

I am marginally ahead of you, having made the decision to go aheda

with the surgery but waiting for an appointment with a surgeon. I'm

32 (and a half) if this helps and also looking at a two to three

overall process, but this forum has been absolutely invaluable in

both making the decision and getting information about the process.

Yes it's scary but everyone here has been amazing and lots of people

are out hthe other side, so ask away, take your time, and everyone is

with you if you decide to go for it.

I don't have a surgeon yet. I still haven't 100% decided to have the

surgury.

Is Dr. West really good? I have heard his name twice now. He is in

Seattle?

Thanks,

Beth

Hi Beth,

I live in the Seattle area, on the eastside. I just had mma surgery

after having braces on for about a year. I'll need my braces on for

another 6-9 mths post surgery.

My ortho is Dr. Schur in Bellevue, I really like him. My

surgeon is Dr. Feldman in Seattle, I really like him too.

Good luck,

Ed
