Guest guest
I know that mouthwash with alchohol is not a good thing. I do not know about other mouthwashes. One thing I did learn the hard way is that the Chlorhexadine rinse will stain your teeth brown. If you do not keep your teeth spotless, the Chlorhexadine somehow binds to the " dirty " spots. Even though I was brushing and rinsing constantly, I still ended up with stains on my canine (eye) teeth. The bright side is that when my ortho is finally removed the stains can be polished out. > > I am finished with my perscription mouthwash chlorohexidine and now > am rinsing with saltwater after every meal as well as using my baby > toothbrush 2-3 times a day. Guest guest
CPTBob, Is Chlorhexadine rinse the same thing as Peridex? I know that P. can do what you mentioned, but usually a good dental cleaning can take care of it. As for mouthwashes, the generally recommended one is Biotene. It can also help with dry mouth, and far as I know, it has no alcohol. Other suggestion has been to cut the mouthwash by half with water. Dunno why you couldn't use dilute hydrogen peroxide, either, unless you have some special glues such as I did -- because my mouth is royal... full of crowns.
