She is allergic to milk, and fruit, fruit juices, sugars stir up her candidiasis problems. How can a person start this diet and get balanced meals and not lose weight? Well, I can state right of the bat that although I did not, so far as I knew, have candida, I didn't tolerate the fruit juices and fruits. The only thing I could handle was diluted Tropicana orange juice. Next, is your daughter lactose intolerant or casein intolerant? If she is lactose intolerant, SCD yogurts and cheeses are basically lactose free. If she is casein intolerant, the question would be whether it is specifically cow casein that she has an issue with. Many of the children on the autism spectrum don't tolerate cow milk yogurt and cheeses, but after some healing, do just fine on goat milk yogurt and cheeses. Keep in mind that no fresh milk is consumed on SCD. You can get an amazing amount of carbs using low and medium carb vegetables, peeled and well cooked. Kim Mumbower has uploaded some great material about following SCD and eliminating candida in our library, here: http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/BTVC-SCD/files/Candida%20or%20Yeast%20Information/ Hopefully, you will find this helpful. Feel free to ask any other questions you may have -- others who have dealt with dairy sensitivities or candida may well have some hints for you. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund
Guest guest
Peggy, when I started this diet I was 100 lbs soaking wet. Now I am procrastinating starting a weight loss diet. Absorbing your food from proper digestion makes all the difference. Oh, and nut butter helps with weight gain too. > > Need help with starting diet? > Do you have a copy of Breaking the Vicious Cycle? > > > †" Marilyn >    New Orleans, Louisiana, USA >    Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 >    Darn Good SCD Cook >    No Human Children >    Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund > >        >
