Guest guest
i was originally told that i would be in braces for 18 months total (a year before the op. then 6 months after). then I was told that my teeth were moving quickly and after 6 months, i was told I was ready. I then had a condylectomy which removed a tiny portion of one side of the jaw. I expected the major operation to be soon after this as I had been told I was ready, I was also told that I should see a significant improvement in my bite after the condylectomy. Now, my bite is ten times worse and today I was told that the next operation would be in a further 18 months from now, and then i would still have braces 6 months after that. i feel like they orthodontists and surgeons do not know what they are doing. The last 7 months of braces have been a complete waste of time, as I am basically starting again except this time i have 2 years to wait and not 18 months. In these 2 years, a single tooth meets at the back, thanks to the condylectomy which was supposed to markedly improve my bite. I feel like giving up. I personally did not expect the condylectomy to improve my bite. I expected it to get worse just from imagining how my teeth would move. However I assumed that the surgeons knew something I did not. But now it seems to me, that they don't really know anything. sorry for the rant, but im realy pissed, especially as I had been told that after 6 months I was ready.
