Guest guest
First off, GREAT news about being cancer free!!! I know you're going to take that vacation you've been dreaming about Marilyn. Congrats!!Next, I visited Whole Foods Market and they have an idle for everything except an SCD isle. When they get that isle I will be shopping there exclusively. Finally, I can't get my flare under control this time. It's been 2 weeks since I stopped taking antibiotics and started steroids along with the max dose of Asacol (12 pills a day). Usually, this will kick a flare out of me overnight. This time, it's just not happening. I've gone back to intro for 2 day and now i'm eating very little honey, no nut flours, and only seasoned meats, eggs, mashed squash, cooked carrots and broccoli, mild cheddar cheese, legal bacon, legal brown mustard from digestivewellness, at least a cup of yogurt a day with no honey in it, no more than 1 banana a day, avocado(1 a day at most), cheesecake, and I made a type of jello with coconut cream. that sounds good. Everything i've been eating has never bothered me before so I have no reason to believe it's anything i'm eating but who knows. Seasoning are nothing new as well. Also taking scd multivitamin, occasionally oregano oil, and occasionally charcoal tablets. 2 nights ago I started epsom salt baths (they kick ass! sooo relaxing) and I soak in there for about 20 minutes. Any advice? Things I should cut out? cut the oil of oregano - it's irritating in a flare. if you are having mucous, I'd cut the dairy for a little while. Make ghee (get rid of the milk solids from the butter),keep with the yogurt but cut the cheese until mucous ameliorates. Just keep on keeping on, sometimes it takes a while. What happened with the vitamin E? Not helping? Mara
Guest guest
no, For some reason when I use the steroids ( same application) while doing the vitamin E the steroids have no effect... so, I went for the sure thing which in this case was the steroids. I'm going to try the Vit E again if I have something minor.-UC - 1+ yearsSCD - 7 months 100% strict and 4 months restricted diet.Asacol - 5 pills a dayTo: BTVC-SCD From: alcibiades@...Date: Tue, 9 Feb 2010 21:23:50 -0500Subject: Re: Observations, Questions, Concerns, and randoms... Guest guest
, Try cutting out the eggs, and the supplements. Have you been doing lots of bone broth soups? I don't think many alternative docs who prescribe LDN take insurance. You may have to pay out of pocket anyway. Feel better, PJ > > > First off, GREAT news about being cancer free!!! Guest guest
I would try S Boulardii, but it may work better for CD than UC. Not sure but I started a stronger dose of S Boulardi (Nutricolgy 3 pills 3 times a day) a week ago and have been pretty much symptom free for a week. Feel Better. Guest guest
That works, chicken, beef, fish... it's the gelatin from the boiled bones that is soothing to the gut.
