I had a bone graft from my hip to my top teeth and my lower jaw moved back.

My surgery was on 03-10-04 and the OS advised me to lay off the running for at

least 10 weeks after surgery. However, the OS was more worried about my hip

then my jaw. I suspect if you don't have a bone graft, you won't have to wait

as long as I did. Good Luck.

Hi,

They say that it takes 8-10 weeks to have a bone fully heal...so

there's that...but I have to tell you honestly, I had upper/genio and

sinus surg...and it turned out very well, but I especially remember

walking heavy on my feet-like quickly and then my first few bounces

about...I really felt that in my jaw...you will have to be your own

judge indeed, but think 10 weeks and then see how you actually

feel...I don't think I would have if I were a runner...it was

uncomfortable/awkward and I wasn't willing to risk injury...maybe you

can begin working out then, walking on a treadmill and work back up

to running/bouncing on your feet speed ;)

Good luck...I hope this is your biggest worry/concern through your

process!! :) JO
