Guest guest
I can barely keep up with protein and calcium, so I don't attempt to keep up with creatine. I did hear basically what you heard from my trainer......that it just helps keep water in the muscles, which is good for them. in Austin RNY April 1998 Ok, gym rats -- question on creatine > hiya fellow gym rats (you know who you are) lol... > i really need to increase the amount i can lift in the next two > weeks, my trainer recommended creatine though he admits that he > doesn't know the effects of it on a gastric bypass patient (and he > warned it causes some weight gain) > > i've been doing reading online about creatine, hear one side saying > how great it is for increased muscle mass but other side says that > all it does it put water in the muscles to make the look bigger -- > > anyone use creatine -- if so what is your experience with it (dosage, > what do you take it with, results) etc > > thanks much! > kate > > > Homepage: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Graduate-OSSG > > Unsubscribe: mailto:Graduate-OSSG-unsubscribe > > > > >
Guest guest
Kate: All creatine does is bloat the muscle, thereby shortening them and making them temporarily " stronger " . The problems that I have seen with creatine is that people end up with muscle tears and tendon problems if they are not careful. The benefit does not, in my opinion, outweigh the risk of damage. If you do use it, do it in 21 day cycles (21 on 21 off). Guest guest
Kate, Creatine does increase water volume in the muscle, this makes it appear larger. Creatine also increases strength, this increases the amount you can lift, thereby increasing the actual size of the muscle. Facts: Creatine works. If you build muscle you will put on weight. Nutrition plays a most improtant role in muslce building. You can not increase muscle and lose weight at the same time.. It's impossible, no matter what anyone tells you. You must consume carbs to increase muscle, the carbs you cosume today are the muscles you build tomorrow. If you're worried about seeing the scale increase then stop lifting, it's gonna happen if you're working right, eating right and supplementing right. Now, back to the creatine. In my opinion, no scientific proff, just common sense. If you'll do the serum creatine you should absorb correctly. It's like 5 cc's under your tongue like 10 mins before a workout. Just as with powder creatine you'll need do load with it when ya start. It will take a coupla weeks and you'll see a definate increase in strength, recovery time and muscle size. I've never used it, I bought the ATP Advantage serum creatine but started NO2 the next day, which really is the next level in supplementation for bodybuilding, and it does work. It's very expensive though, $79.95 at GNC for 180 caplets, you'll take 4 twice a day. Hope some of this helps, I know you probably know most of it already.
