Guest guest
Hi all..I haven't had much time to spend on this list lately, but I hope this finds everyone doing well. In the past, I have read that some fellow grads have done the Atkins diet to jumpstart their weight loss again, as well as to reign in those carb cravings. I was wondering if anyone had anymore to say about doing Atkins after WLS. I figured the high protein, lo carb aspect of it was perfect for us, but after doing almost 3 days of the induction period, I was seriously sick. I woke up with dry heaves, and at that point gave up. I was hungry ALL THE TIME, and NEVER satisfied, even after eating (including 3 protein shakes per day, and 100 oz of H20). This reminded me way too much of how I felt before weight loss surgery. All I could think about was eating. I was crazed about it and it was a real feeling, not head hunger. I was told that it was my body's way of switching from consuming carbs to burning fat... Any insight and past experiences would be appreciated. Thanks Arlene -130 with about 60 left to go
