Guest guest
I had my lower jaw moved forward, my upper jaw moved back with an expansion and moved upward 3mm back in june. The story behind my jaw surgery: I was extremely scared of my surgery for a whole year in anticipation of the surgery. The day of my surgery i woke up at about 8am and went to the hospital. My fiancee and his mom and my dad were all there to support me. I went back in the back and changed into the hospital gown. Surgery lasted about 4 hours. The doctor told my family that the break was clean so i would be tightly banded. I woke up with my eye hurting more than my jaw did do to the tape they used to tape your eyes shut during surgery. I had a tube in my nose that connected to my stomache to pump all the blood out from surgery so i would not get sick. I was not in any pain but i was completely uncomfortable due to not being able to breathe. Everyone told me that i was constantly cracking jokes from the time i woke up until i fell asleep again. I stayed in the hospital for two nights. The second day in the hospital my doctor came in and they took the cathetor out and let me take a shower. That was a great feeling. When i finally got to home it felt a little weird being out of the hospital. The doctor ordered a suction machine for me so i could suck all the saliva out of my mouth so i could breathe better. The whole time i was home i mainly watched movies. I had about 3 panic attacks due to yucky stuff on the back of my teeth. The antibiotics where awful so i disguised it in soda. The whole time i was home i didnt take any painkillers and the whole liquid diet wasnt that bad for me because i had a new bite and food that i wasnt able to eat before hand after surgery.
