Guest guest
<<If there is an answer to this, I'm interested also!>> I wonder if it's not the release of the extra estrogen from your fat cells. Our fat cells store estrogen and as we lose weight those hormones are released into your bloodstream. From what I've read it will eventually work itself out but still talk to your gyno. Guest guest
That's funny you guys say that....I've not changed in my cycles at all. They are still just as heavy and just as regular as before surgery. And I have PCOS too....weird huh? T. Depo is some crazy stuff!! I betcha that's your problem. She had to stop taking the shots. A gyno that doesn't do pelvic exams isn't really a gyno then right? Maybe you need to find a better gyno who is willing to help you. Guest guest
I've been on the depo shot for the past 8 years. Haven't had a period in all that time. It's wonderful. But there is a downside. My surgeon said that the depo shot may be the reason I gained so much weight. He told me I could stay on it for now, but if my weight loss plateaus before I'm anywhere near goal, I may have to go off it. Weight gain IS one of the many side effects of the depo shot. Though I've always been the first one to support the shot, I personally wouldn't recommend it to any WLS patients. Too risky in my opinion. in Indiana Open RNY 2/25/04 265.4/219/135 5'5 " Age 28 -- Re: have you been told <<pam all i have to say is when is the period going to stop i am even on the depo shot.. come on.. >> My girlfriend had a period for 4 months with that stuff.
