Pain comparison- surgery vs. migraines

Hi everyone,

I have read various comments/posts about how the pain after surgery

compares to wisdom tooth removal or root canals, etc. I haven't had

either, so in my own quest to get a comparative possible idea of what

kind of pain I may face post-surgery, I was wondering how the pain

compares to migraine headaches???

And!- What makes wisdom tooth removal more painful than the removal

of other teeth in the mouth? Or is it?

Thanks! Katja (I will be having upper & lower & palatal split.)

I had upper advancement/split as well as lower advancement. But I

have to say that I've had migraines and I think migraines are

infinitely worse. I'm about day 12 post-op, and the worst I've been

is uncomfortable and sore. I feel a bit of pressure, and a feeling

of " tightness " that I imagine has to do with the swelling, but it

hasn't been incredibly painful. I stopped all pain meds on day

four, I believe.

Cheers,

sm
