Guest guest
Marilyn, Thanks for your thoughts. I followed the SCD exactly as BTVC required. I didn't stray at all till almost a year and a half had passed. Then I would taste a little piece of bread to see what would happen. over time the negative reactions became less and less hurtful, till that glorious day when they were gone. Everyone has their own story, and I doubt that any two are alike. I was aware that the culprit bacteria wrap themselves in biofilm that will protect them from the usual antibiotics, so I used monolaurin to disrupt the biofilm and several other natural antibiotics to try to get to the bad guys. I used the approved probiotics. It took me eighteen months to get to them, but it seems that it all worked out in the end. I don't want to mislead anyone on the need to adhere absolutely to the instructions in BTVC. When I asked about the adaptogens, I was just wondering if they had been discussed while I was away. I was almost killed by incompetence in the allopathic system so this caused me to embrace CAM with a lot of enthusiasm. I need to make certain that I don't get too much into that while I'm on this board. The last thing I want to do is confuse those who are struggling to regain their health. Guest guest
Mara,I just read about coconut water (taken from young coconuts). It is high in lauric acid. To quote one coconut producer "Coconut water contains high levels of lauric acid, what the body uses to make monolaurin, a disease-fighting fatty acid derivative. Lauric acid has anti-fungal, anti-bacterial and anti-viral properties that protect the body against various infections and boost the immune system."It is like nature's sports drink. I also read that it has been used in place of IV plasma during war. My only question is whether young coconut water is illegal in a similar way that not properly ripe bananas are.AmeliaTo: BTVC-SCD Sent: Sat, February 13, 2010 5:05:18 PMSubject: Re: Re:SCD for IBS? Les, A lot of us are interested in this - given the state of traditional medicine and our disease complexes - so talk away. So you found monolaurin effective - any particular brand or dosage?
