Before I started SCD, when I was on a no/low-carb diet (and still had a very little bit of sugar intake from various sauces and spices and what-not), I decided to try introducing honey, and I got a lot of gas as a result, within a few hours of trying it, each time that I did. Honey seems kind of central to SCD (and if I can't tolerate honey, why should I be able to tolerate, say, apples?), so I wonder how to test whether that's causing my problems or what.. It's possible to have issues with both honey and fruit in any kind of quantity. What I'm seeing is that you've introduced three items (honey, banana, and apple), all of which are quite high carb, and have not introduced any cooked, peeled vegetables. I remember when I first started SCD, fruit and yogurt smoothies were the " in " thing on the list. Some of the recipes had a couple cups of fruit and a full cup of dripped yogurt, plus honey. I tried one of them and spent the the day parked on the necessary. For me, personally, I could use a couple teaspoons of honey and some vanilla in my yogurt OR I could have half a ripe banana OR I could have half and peeled, cored apple OR I could have a half cup of Tropicana orange juice. I did much better on quantities of medium to low-carb cooked, peeled vegetables --in fact, cooled, peeled zucchini was about the only vegetable I tolerated for several months. But the plus side of this was that once I recovered from my first SCD Christmas where I created lots of very advanced dishes, I was able to start adding food relatively quickly. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund
