Guest guest
WOW Now THERE is an idea for me,,,,,since my Dexa showed Osteopenia (albeit mild),,,,,,NOW THERE IS A SUPP!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am calling my doc tommorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well,,I might wait awhile,,,,,as in other news,,,,my dear wife just had Lap RNY 100cm bypass this past Monday at noon, and as of today made a shopping excursion (a short one) to Walmart cause she was sick of being in the house and wanted to walk in A/C space. We are in SW Louisiana,,,,,,so with the heat in the mid nineties right now and humidity that can only be described as " slimy " this is an essential. I am proud to say that we tossed the surgeon's nutriton sched and did our own and she is getting in 80-120g of protein via the Champion Whey Choc route made with water,,,,,I get em down to the four to six ounce range and use the braun hand blender to crush and smooth out the crushed ice I add,,,,it is frothy and while she does not " like " them per se (she will learn), she knows the necessity. I am very relieved, happy and proud for her. On that same vein,,,,I need a BIG favor! Those of you who have access to nutriton guides that you think have merit (as in recommended by the operating surgeon) wouldja consider sharing with me? I want to work with this surgeon, he is especially good and has ears (I saw them). I am still waiting to see if he read the instruction manual for em tho! I want to try and compile something that I would recommend for him and will try and work with is patients in organizing a suppport group as well. I just know it is essential for anything to be a success IF AND ONLY IF we are on the same page nutrionlly. If anyone has something they think has merit, only if a portion of it has merit wouldja contact me via email and I will either pay any costs of obtaining it, or shipping etc! Also, weight-bearing exercise helps a lot. Of all my tests, I passed my dexascan with flying colors and my calcium supplementation had been less than stellar.
