Guest guest
Hello everybody. Just checking in from the UK. I am due to have my lower jaw advancement next wednesday and have come to this site for some moral support and advice! Have had braces on for 20 months now and my teeth are pretty straight. All that i need now for that perfect smile is for my lower jaw to come forward about 7-9mm. I don't know anyone else who has had this kind of surgery done so it has been useful (and a bit scary) to read your posts and see your pictures. Am starting a new job at the beginning of may - any chance i will look like or sound like a normal person by then?! All for now, debsx
Guest guest
Hi debra Best of luck next week. Can't hep you with the work question as I'm a bit of an observer here until the NHS give me an appointment but glad to hear from someone else from the UK. > > Hello everybody. Guest guest
Debra, I am also having my surgery on the 23rd. I've been told that I will sound pretty normal by the second week (although my mouth won't move when I talk - yay, free ventriloquism training!). and look pretty " normal " in about a month. There can be residual swelling for a year, but probably nothing that someone in a new job would notice. GOOD LUCK! > > > > > > Hello everybody. Just checking in from the UK.
