Guest guest
Hi Tova, I actually have recently been looking into changing my PCP and in NY the state has a website devoted solely to medical information... insurance, doctors, hospitals, etc. It also has a section where a person can research any doctor for claims/complaints/charges against that doctor. I thought that was really interesting. I'm not sure if in that case it involved going through the insurance company or filing whatever statement of grievance directly through the state. In this matter, my complaint isn't with my doctor... it's with his residents. I agree completely with you that expressing my complaints/concerns is important. I meet with my surgeon tomorrow and intend to explain to him everything that has transpired with his residents during the course of my treatment. There have been a lot of other little incidents with them beyond what I have posted. I think he should be aware and I know I will feel a lot better bringing it to his attention to deal with as he sees fit. I don't think I would feel better if I just kept my mouth shut and never saying anything. Besides, how could he recitfy anything with them if I didn't communicate with him. Thank you for the idea... I think submitting the complaint would be more appropiate action for original orthodontist back in high school!!! After all of this is overwith, I hope to get my records from him and then plan to take action on that front. I'm not sure in what capacity or to what end. Possibly just a letter to him expressing my immeasurable malcontent with the less than mediocre orthodontic treatment I recieved from him. Possibly more. An actual complaint registered through the state might be even more satisfying. I'll have to look up what others already exist..... I'll let you know how tomorrow goes. Take care, Katja
