Guest guest
amy, i didn't have any drains going home and i had open RNY. i did have 6 little drains which reminded me of a kazoo about 3 inches long. they were towards the top of the incision and were removed the day i went home (on the 3rd day from surgery). i have heard of some having drainage tubes for 3 weeks after their surgery. i thank the good Lord i didn't have to go through that. laurette 4/23/04 open RNY 309/290/255/
Guest guest
It is too bad that they can't take out the part of our brains that tries to convince us that we are hungry while they are at it. I know that is the majority of my hunger before the surgery so I know I am going to have a lot of problems with it following the surgery. Hang in there and vent all you want. I know that I will be doing the same one day after my surgery. Dora Awaiting approval in TN
Guest guest
> > what am i doing wrong i am walking more and getting diarheaa and major gas and trying to wing myself off of the pain meds so as to be dependent...starlet You are doing better than me for the fluids! The gas and bloating continues for me, starting week 3. Some days better than others. I have constipation, but the M.O.M. caused me diarrhea for 36 hours, with tons of gas! Don't worry about the pain meds. I worried also, but each day needed less, and the taste was worse than the pain, so but Day 8 I wanted the Lortab no longer. Everything in it's time. I had one day when I felt starving. My hubby pureed up some chicken for me and it wouldn't go down, even in cream of chicken soup. A few popsicles made the hunger go away.
