Guest guest
I am so sorry to hear this, and hopefully after treatment it will go into remission. Prednisone, I have a hate/love affair with the drugwhen I need it, I love it, when I have to take it too long, I hate it. You are right about the side effects, wt. gain, irritability, yes knowthose all too well. I was dx over 14 years ago, and after my first bout, which was treated with Prednisone, I went into remission for a while, sorry can't remember exact dates anymore, then another bout, treatment and remission, and one more time. There is always a chance it will go into remission for good too. so always be looking for the positive outcome. He is young, so this may help. Everyone here have had many different history of this disease, there is a lot of support here, so feel free to ask your questions, some will get back to you as soon as we can, as we are allsick too. Prednisone is the usually the first drug picked to treat Sarcoid at first, I had been on and off it for years. Now I am on Remicade every 5 weeks and doing pretty good. I will keep you and your husband in my prayers. Marla Hey everyone, my husband just got diagnosed with neurosarcoidosis last week. Of course, our neurologist spent a lot of time going over the severe side effects of taking the high doses of prednisone, but I really want to hear how others & their spouses are dealing with this same thing. He has it in his hypothalamus, which I've heard is a rare area, so I just haven't found any information out there. Any information would be appreciated. The side effects that they talked about him having with the medication seem to be right in line with the symptoms that he was experiencing that lead us to go to the doctors in the first place-weight gain, severe irritability ,diabetes symptoms, etc. I already have seen our marriage be affected by this & it hurts so much. He & I are both in our 20's & have only been married for a year, so this has really tested us. -- Marla BramerIndependent Beauty Consultant Kay mbramer@...www.marykay.com/mbramer May the Lord bless you and keep you,May the Lord make his face to shine uponYou,And be gracious to you;May the Lord lift up his favor upon you and give you his peace.(Numbers 6:24-26)
