Guest guest
I'm with you Holly! I mentioned before that I've been on them for over 10 years... I guess everyone is so unique, we all have different experiences. -Joanna SCD 9/2009, Crohn's 1992 > > > > 3. Hope this isn't TMI, but I've only had my period once since I was diagnosed six months ago. My husband and I are hoping to try and have kids sometime this year. I went to the gynecologist, and went on a 10 day course of pills that were supposed to get me to have my period. No luck yet, though I have a couple more days where it could happen. If not, I'm supposed to take a month's worth of birth control to hopefully get things started again. She gave me a free pack, they're chewable, so I'm sure there are illegals in it. I have never taken birth control before, so are there any birth control pills that don't have illegals? I don't even know if I have to get a prescription for those though, and I'm wondering if the chewable ones will be that detrimental. Thoughts? > > > > I am scared to take birth control since I never have before, and I'm not sure how it will affect my crohn's. Do any other females have problems with their cycles, and were you ever able to get regular again? > > > > Thanks, > > > > Amber > > >
Guest guest
Absolutely it is! I lost mine every time I lost enough blood to become anemic. I was in high school though so I wasn't really upset about losing it: " what? no cramps? awesome! " Stacey > Somebody mentioned anemia- is that a possible reason to not have a period? I just had bloodwork done, and I am anemic. Although I forgot to ask for the numbers.
Guest guest
Well, at least I have a reason now. Hopefully I can get back to normal in the near future. I understand you though. I never thought I'd be upset about missing periods. Thanks, Stacey. Amber > > > Somebody mentioned anemia- is that a possible reason to not have a period? I just had bloodwork done, and I am anemic. Guest guest
In case you would like more corroboration, my period got lighter and lighter when I was losing blood and then I didn't have one one month. Got a blood transfusion a week or so later and then the next day got the period - it was waiting for me to have enough blood! Docs told me it was normal to miss periods when anemic.
