; I know what you mean about the food thing on vacation. I have always celebrated with food not alcohol (I was raised by alcoholic abusive parents so I don't drink) but when we go places my husband likes to eat out so I always choose burger king because I can get a grilled chicken breast plain and I throw away the bread. As I watch him eating his whole lotta o food I'm thinking to myself when we get to the ocean and I'm walking in the water and he says I'm tired lets go back up you can watch from up there I think in my head yeah you take your big whopper butt up and lay on the beach when I'm done walking in the water we can go. I just got back from Tahoe where we went to a wedding and I had to climb a hilly rocky trail to the top and I did it with no help and NO ONE had to wait on me. People who knew me before WLS was amazed and at the reception I ate my little bit of food and talked but I kept thinking if I ate the way they are I

would be sick and not enjoy myself so I guess I'm trying to say is celebrate in your accomplishments and not the food because you wouldn't be able to do this if it was still all about food. If you have to eat out pick the food apart and eat what you can give the rest away or throw it away. I do a lot of self talk in these situations and always say to myself I celebrate the fact I can do it and when I'm sitting at Mcs eating my salad and the grandkids are eating their food and playing and laughing I say this is good enough three years I could not do this they were helping me do everything and now we can go and do and they don't have to help me I help them. When they see a picture of at 473 Lbs they always say I don't remember you being that fat and I know they really loved me and that makes me feel very special to them and I always cry. So celebrate in what you can do and how you feel and the food thing may not matter that much. Have a

great vacation and enjoy yourself. Take care Benda; T .
