Guest guest
Any of you gals dealing with Polycystic Ovaries? Did you have recurrences while being on the SCD? I was doing fine Mensturation wise with SCD (first time in my life) and now not so much. I think it is connected to my overall ways of dealing with stress. Since Surgery last year my Thyroid health has been wonky (yep, I treat adrenals) and I am most sure it's connected. I've read a couple of books on it. I just had all sex hormones, thyroid panel, FSH and a whole bunch of other stuff tested. Any of you use bio-identical progesterone cream to bring your period on? If so, how did that usage of progest make you feel? Thanks, Jodi
Guest guest
Jodi,I don't have polycystic ovaries, but have always been estrogen dominant. After my hysterectomy, I started using progesterone (even though I still kept my ovaries). It does help. I have a friend who has a uterine fibroid which is getting better (not growing and might be shrinking, cancelled surgery) by using it and totally swears by it. Says she feels fabulous and that her skin and hair is even doing better after using it. I can't say that it 'brings your period on' exactly. It is recommended to be used (in menstruating women) during the time from ovulation until your period begins -- about 2 weeks -- only. Eventually, it should help normalize things and you can stop using it. Some, however, find that they (like when they are perimenopausal) needed to continue it.
