Oh no! I had upper & lower surgery on 1 Feb. I only had one elastic

on either side that i've been able to take off for a few hours a day

for a month or so. But I went to see my orthodontist today and she

put tight elastics on - two on either side - cos things aren't going

too well right at the back. She took them out when I said I'd not

had my lunch yet and said I could put looser ones in during the day

but at night I have to tighten things up. It just took me 10 minutes

to get the things in and i'm not convinced I've put them in the

right place - i can't be far wrong though cos she's taken most of

the surgical hooks off. It hurts! My teeth are clenced together

really hard. I hope I get to sleep quickly tonight or else it will

be horrible!

I can't remember who it was who was asking about speech therapy

earlier this week. I said I'd let them know what my orthdontist said

about it this time as she didn't mention it last time, but had

mentioned it before I started the whole process. Well, she just

basically gave me a prescription so i can go and see a speech

therapist. The person she's sending me to is also a " kinétherapeute "

(i'm ashamed to say i just don't know what that is in English even

though I am English!) but basically they'll do some exercises with

me to help me open my mouth wider. I will have to go for a first

appointment to see what particularly problems I have, then I'll have

20 sessions! I don't quite know how I'll fit that in my timetable

but I guess I'll have to find a way.

Right. I'm off to try and get some sleep...

Night!
