Guest guest
Hello Everyone, Got a question for those who had their gall bladder removed after wls. I had wls 04/2002 and had my gall bladder removed in 06/2003. I was having some problems with vomitting and this is how it was discovered that my gall bladder was not working. Now with the exception of not vomitting (yeah) I have not really noticed any difference since the gb is gone. My question is should there be any big differences since the gall bladder is gone? thanks (usually just lurking in lurkdome)
Guest guest
Terry, I totally agree. Some surgeons simply believe that if it's not broken, don't fix it. That certianly doesn't make them unethical either. in NJ *********************** > All surgeons who do not routinely remove the gall bladder during WLS are not unethical. > > Terry
Guest guest
Any large amount of weight loss, especially rapid weight loss, can cause gallbladder problems. That's why I had to have my gallbladder removed in 1987, LONG before my 2001 WLS. So although a WLS patient is likely to need to have their gallbladder removed after WLS, many WLS patients still have their gallbladder and have no problems. It would be more unethical to remove the gallbladder " just in case " it might cause problems later! " FarAwayDeb "
