Guest guest
I am almost 7 weeks post-op and I remember those small amounts very well. The first week I barely ate two spoonfuls at a meal. Drinking was very hard as well since everything tasted bad for about 10 days. I found I couldn't take ice in my water at first and couldn't stand anything to drink that was sweet. I would eat about 2 oz. about 3 times a day and my mother was getting really upset. She was caring for me at home and thought I couldn't possibly get enough food in. This is normal for the early post-op days and it does improve. Even now I still eat very little, but I feel full and I feel healthy. Eating in general was very difficult for the first 3-4 weeks, but slowly got better. Kathy M.
