Guest guest
Hawkins & Judie, The norm is to loose 40-50% of excess weight after 6 months. For a heavy patient 40% is more normal. Therefore to loose 200 lbs in 6 months would normally require somebody to be 500 lbs overweight! If you are 250 lbs overweight you should expect to loose about 100 lbs in the first 6 months. Some loose more, so loose less, but this is the statistical mean. Most SMO (BMI>50) require the full 18 months to loose the 70% of excess weight. Those with BMI's closer to 40 will likely loose their weight in about 1 year.
