Guest guest
Hi !, Thanks for the info on the Markell shoes. We ordered them today and the lady at the shoe store is going to bring in two sizes to be sure we get the right fit. I certainly hope we don't have any issues with the shoes. We'll be sure to get the ortho to teach us how to put them on properly. Grace is still in Markells, then? That's too bad I missed you while you were here in Calgary! Maybe we'll get a chance to meet sometime this year. Sorry to take so long to reply! Guest guest
Yes Grace started in the Markell's and hasn't had any problems with them =) Are you ordering from the ortho shop near the hospital? The reason I ask is and I'll try to make this short... When I was there and they couldn't even tell me where my bags were, I had to start calling around the ortho shops in Calgary (as I wasn't going to have her out of the brace for more than one night) and found that out of the 6 or 7 I called, only one had even heard of the Markell shoes but didn't have any in stock. I then called the hospital and they told me about this shop (can't remember the name off the top of my head) but it was right by the hosp and the woman that owned it, her child had cf. That's why I was wondering if that is where you are getting your shoes from, hope so as she sounded like she has some actual real experience with them. I would read Kori's tips and trick's doc too (you prob already have lol) but I found this just so helpful when first putting the shoes on. Also, do you know what kind of bar you will be getting? From what I found out from all my calls, they supply the bar directly from the hospital, is that right and do you have a choice which one you want? We have the gold adjustable bar (which we got from our orthotist with the shoes), it's really helpful to have an adjustable bar cus you can remove the shoes and put them on first and then re-attach the bar. This made is so much easier for me to get them on correctly, I did this for probably the first week or so. Anyway, really happy for you guys! When is Keira going into them?
