Guest guest
I know I've asked this before, (maybe some new wonder cure/drug has been discovered since the last time I asked) but I am having a terrible time with severe constipation. I had lap rny on Jan 22, 2004. I drink the 8-10 glasses of wate a day, I take 3 stool softeners at bedtime, and daily I take 4-5 grams of fiber (pills) with meals. Nothing is helping. I am only having a bowel movement every 2-3 days and it is like cement and very painful. I now have major hemorrhoids that bleed sometimes from the strain. To date I haven't lost much weight either. I believe mostly because of this problem. I was 224 the day of surgery and am 196 today. Only 38 pounds in 5 months. Yes it's 38 pounds that I couldn't loose before, but this has really been difficult. My husband is trying to be supportive, but this has really effected him too. You can imagine how interested I am (not) in spending " intimate time " with him when I feel so lousy. I really need help. I asked my doctor about this and she put me on lactulose syrup. I tried it 2 times and threw up both times from it. Cathy
