traveling on airplane with yogurt?

I am heading to Houston from Chicago to visit my sister for 4 days and want to

take some homemade yogurt. Will I make it through a security check with the

yogurt as a carry-on? I read through the rules on the web-site and it looks

like misc. food items don't have to comply with the 3.4 oz restriction as long

as it is declared at the security check.

My back-up plan is to ship it to my sister's ahead of time but I'm not sure how

to do that and keep it cold.
