Guest guest
Without my saying anything, he knew exactly what my concerns were and addressed them!! He is definitely an amazing man!! He said the angles on the shoes are fine, if I could find a cobbler to adjust them, I could do so, but it wouldn't affect things if I left everything as is. I told him we were thinking of the s and he excitedly told me what degree angle to tell when we send the impression kit back, so I believe that's a resounding approval of the use of the brace!! He actually said " oh, yes, that would be the best " when I asked about using them! :-) So that's where we sit. I will send the kit back and with any luck by the end of January we'll be in the s!! Yippee! Stacee and
Guest guest
I don't think you'd need a cobbler to do it. If those are screws, you could drill a hole in the bar and re-set them. He must be saying this about the abduction because your notes said 60 degrees. They may be around that angle, hard to tell exactly from pics. What was the degree he told you to tell about? Ummm... so he didn't yell at you for questioning all this like the nurse? wow... lol! I'd still tell him about it. He needs to know, next person she gets and treats that way may not be as forgiving. Guest guest
I have no idea how to adjust the shoes... there is no obvious way to remove the shoe or the " bolts " to adjust the rotation. Dr P said his feet would be fine as is if we're unable to change the setting. If you look at the photo, there's not much room to relocate the shoe's position, anyway. The s are to be right foot at 60 degrees and left at 20. Dr P was wonderful, not thinking that I was second-guessing him or anything like that, so that's good! 'Cause I wasn't!! :-) I felt like a huge burden was lifted from my shoulders to get my questions answered in a non-attacking manner!! So, we'll see what happens between now and when the s are made... has been pretty miserable for the day today. Very fussy and not napping well at all. He also got up many many many times overnight and crabbed. Now that he's not in the brace at the moment, he's quite the happy boy, so I suspect he's adjusting to his new movements and confinement. :-) We'll just have to deal with the fussing and hope it gets better soon!
