Guest guest
I have decided to order the shoes for since the Markells are killing her little feet, but I would like a lighter alternative to the DBB. We have a six inch DBB (gold) which must weigh several pounds! She can hardly lift it at all and not very high. I know this is part of her frustration with the bar/shoes. Since it is just a simple bar connecting the shoes, I'm sure there must be a better alternative. Any suggestions are welcome. BTW, can I just rant a bit about the lack of knowledge of orthotists and even orthopedists about what is out there for club foot kids? No one had ever heard of an adjustable bar, and the orthotics place (the best one in a large metropolitan city) didn't have any shoes with the heel cut out for a baby her size. They put these horribly stiff shoes with a heavy, heavy bar on a baby and then wonder why the baby has problems?!? I do not get this except that it is just little babies and toddlers who can't complain...if adults had to wear the equivalent of this, they would go off the market immediately!
