I find this the strangest letter. It even seems from the list of their

exclusions that a rny would not be approved because of the wording stapling

to produce a pouch.

What are they approving? cholestectomy? Is that just stomach

stapling with out removing any of the stomach, an operation we know has

great failure rate? Liver biopsy is a check to make sure things are

working ok right?

Then why exclude the appendectomy. I know all surgeons when doing

abdominal surgery like to take the appendix out because it is

non-functional and saves an operation in the future as long as it will not

complicate the surgery being done or increase risk.

It sounds like they are approving that you meet the criteria for obesity

surgery. I just can't figure out if they are even offering one. What a

weird letter.

In fact, reading the procedures that are not covered I can't figure out any

surgery that is available to you. Looks like DS is out, VBG is out. Fobi

Pouch, stomach restriction, any kind of malabsorption procedure?

Keep us informed as this is incredible to me.

Of course, I will admit that I know little about this so far.
