Guest guest
Christee, Who did you see about this? I would definitely get a couple of opinions on this and possibly even ask Dr. Ponseti's advice, he will definitely be able to direct you to someone who specializes in this area. And yes, you should see an Orthopaedic Surgeon for this. There are treatments available to fix this but you first have to determine exactly how much of a difference you are talking about and if it will ultimately matter. Leg length discrepancies are pretty impossible to measure accurately by hand (meausuring tape?), and it matters if the discrepancy is all in one place or is it say 4mm in the femur, and 4mm in the tibia? I have a leg length discrepancy but it is spread out and has never caused me any problems, although it may contribute indirectly to some of the problems I have with my clubfoot as an adult. Hope this helps, Have they done ultrasounds of her hips? At her age ultrasounds sometimes tell them more than x-rays (the bones are still soft enough that everything doesn't show up in x-rays). The first thing that comes to mind is a hip issue. I only say that though because we have a daughter with bilateral congenital hip dysplasia. Maybe get a second opinion, just to be safe. Hip issues are much easier to fix the earlier they are caught! > Marcia > > Leg longer that the other... > > > My daughter Lilee has been in the P/M now for about 2 weeks. She is 3 1/2 months old. I recently have noticed that her Clubfoot leg is longer than the other by up to 1/2? inch. I am going to measure it tonight. Has anyone else expierenced this? What was the outcome? The follow-up Dr. we have DID confirm ny suspishions about this. He did Xrays and said her hips were normal, but he wants to do another set of Xrays in about 2 more months. Any advice? > Christee > Lilee Unilateral A-Typical w/Plantaris CF > > > --------------------------------- > Yahoo!
