Guest guest
I'm right here with you suffering from back pain, leg weakness and many other syptoms. I had back surgery four years ago to fix this problem. I have a vertebrae (not a disc) but the bone between the discs at L4, 5 and 6 which comes out of alignment and pinches the spinal cord. I don't take anything for pain, I don't want to because I want to pay attention to increase of syptoms. As I said, I had surgery four years ago, I had a lamenectomy with bone fusion. They shaved bone from my hip and put it around that vertebrae that pops out and the idea is that the bone should fuse and hold the vertebrae in place. Well, forty-five pounds later, guess what, it didn't work. They " should " have used hardware to keep it in alignment. This surgery was so painful, I swore I'd never have anything done to my back again. But here I am, in pain and worse off now than I was before. They want to put pins and rods in my back and I would be in a body cast and be laid up for quite some time. Not going to happen. Then I hear, well if you lost weight, this pain could improve, most likely would improve. WELL, HOW STUPID OF ME, WHY DIDN'T I THINK OF THAT!!!!!! The nerves in my back are being compressed so badly that sometimes I barely make it to the bathroom in time. I don't feel the sensation almost until its time to explode. My left leg is getting weaker and weaker. I can only stand for 5 or 10 minutes. I can walk short distances before I have to sit down to relieve the pain and get the feeling back in my leg. I have got to have WLS. I prefer a DS but the insurance issue is a real problem. I post the same story every once in a while to see if someone will read my post and come up with a brilliant plan for me. Thanks for letting me vent. Thanks for listening to me whine.
