Guest guest
You asked----Did you do a urine peptide test or RAST testing? What are the differences First the testing is not necessary-we did none and have had huge improvment in my child but if you are wanting a test to see if the diet may help before going on it do the peptide test. A RAST test is for classic allergies and will not determine if gfcf will help. It is not a allergy to gluten and casein that causes the problem-it is the inability to properly digest these protiens-leading to excess peptides that is the real problem. Now Your child could very well also have an allergy to foods in this case a RAST test or other form of conventional allergy testing would be usefull-you could eliminate gluten and casein based on the peptide therory and you could eliminate other allergens at the same time increasing you odds that the diet will help ypur child function better. I understand your concerns over eating and my advice woud be to dtart experimenting with cooking gfcf food before you commit to it that way some food would be familiar when you start and you would also know what he will eat and what he likes.
