Guest guest
Hi Tara! No dumping with this surgery. That happens with the RNY. I have never had a problem in a restrauant with runny BMs or anything remotely like that. I usually go once or twice in the morning and thats it for the day until maybe around midnight I have another one then its off to bed. Like clockwork! As far as eating goes, I eat ANYTHING I want that I can tolerate and that includes sweets too. I concentrate on the proteins first then the veggies and after that if I have any room, fruit and some desert.....sometimes I save those latter two for a couple hours later when I get hungry again. I dont think the weight loss is slower with the DS.......its faster, if anything. I had 100 lbs to lose too and Ive lost 83 lbs in 9 months and consider myself very close to goal with only 20 more to go, I figure the last 5-10 lbs will be with the panni removal so losing the other 10 will be no big deal. How you " feel " is much more important than the numbers on the scale. I lost 23 lbs the first 2 weeks after surgery.....it was pretty rapid until about 6 months then it slows down to give your body a chance to catch up. That doesnt matter when you know you can eat anything and still lose! That, my friend, is true freedom! Judie
