We have never seen a lack or a need to have anything more than the small $179. 5-quart Kitchenaid we got from Walmart a year and a half ago, and we bake all our own bread, cookies, etc. Our whole family (of 6) is on the diet, too. But, if you want something more/bigger and you can afford it, go for it. It is up to you. -Phyllis B.
