Guest guest
The kids just called me. Isabella got healing casts for 2 weeks, then he will re-evalate. The doctor told her she did the right thing (thank you to everyone who helped this freaking out grandma) taking them off ! He said her correction is good, and this was from not putting them on right. The ortho guy came in, and told the doctor she did not get the proper training. When she is ready to go back into the brace, they want to train her, and then watch her do it, and make sure she fully understands how to correctly put them on. My son says Isabella has been a happy camper all morning, and just laid there smiling at them while her healing casts were put on. We got our happy baby back ! Oh yes, they were NOT infected at all. He said it was just really bad pressure sores. THANK YOU ALL !!!!!!!!!! DeeDee California
Guest guest
Yeah for Isabella! The tips and tricks document also is invaluable-has great day to day advice. Sorry to hear she is in casts again but a happy baby is a wonderful thing! kathleen > > The kids just called me. Isabella got healing casts for 2 weeks, then he will > re-evalate. Guest guest
DeeDee, I'm so glad she is happy again, it still amazes me how resilient these kids are! And whoever told her to keep the shoes on needed to get a clue, sores like that - you just don't put a shoe back on. When the Orthotist teaches her how to do put the shoes on next time be sure that they let her practice a couple times. When we first got our shoes the orthotist showed me, then had me do it once. I know it seems tedious but I really think having done it a couple more times would have made me more comfortable with them. The other thing that is important is to take the shoes off to check the heels several times those first few days. Best of luck for her getting healed nice and quick! > > The kids just called me.
