Guest guest
Hi everyone, Posting a message after long time. I hope everyone is doing fine. I pray for everyone's health. My son Tilak is almost 5 years now. Running like a champ, no sign of club feet. Sometimes at night he complains about PAIN in his ankle area. He cries as well. I am not sure if he has pain due to CF or just because of running around whole day he is tired and crying at night? Anyone is exepriencing this problem!!!! I am kind of concern because of history. Please share your experience and advice me before I contact Dr. Thanks. -Tejal
Guest guest
Hi, Tejal, mentioned our experience with this. It happened a couple of times, with Claire complaining about her ankle hurting, even wincing and crying, but in both instances it didn't last long (a few days) and went away without us doing anything. Worried of course, I asked Dr. Ponseti about it, wondering if even a well corrected clubfoot could be painful, and he said no, it shouldn't be. I also wondered if it might be a sign of a relapse beginning (he said no), or because of her wearing the brace, and he said no to that too. He did say that a certain nerve in the foot is in a tighter spot than it would be in a normal foot, and that could be the cause, but he said he doubted it would be a persistent problem. The last time it happened was a year and a half, maybe two years, ago, and hasn't happened again. I wonder if it might be related to growth spurts, or as you mentioned, overdoing normal activity. (Of course every time she says 'my foot hurts', my head whips around, my ears perk up.. what's funny is that often it's something like a piece of mulch in her shoe, or it's her right (non cf) foot.. =) Hope this helps, and Claire age 5 1/2, left cf
