Guest guest
I have asthma, which was the only major concern that my OS had going in to this surgery. My asthma is under control, but I do use a rescue inhaler as needed. Also, I have a breathing machine at home to use as necessary. Before my surgery, I got a mask attachment for my breathing machine because I knew that being wired shut, I would not be able to use my inhaler. It is a good thing that I did becuase I used my breathing machine twice already. Keep in mind that I only used my inhaler about once or twice a week prior to surgery. I didn't think all of this would be necessary, but I am happy that I was prepared because I got a little scared when started to have a hard time breathing and couldn;t use my inhaler. I just thought I would share this experience with everyone in case there are any other asthmatics preparing for this surgery.
