Guest guest
COBRA is telling me than even if we pay now, it is retroactive to his termination date. IOW we will be paying for days when we won't have coverage. Also, I lost my September surgery date and have to start all over. At $835/mo, we will now probably pay more for the insurace than if we pay out of pocket. But I have kids and need the coverage. We can't change to a less expensive insurance because it will become a pre- existing condition with a new insurer. The idea was to keep this insurance until after the operation and then change to a much cheaper one, especially since hubby may be unemployed for a long time. Now that I'm on record as being denied, it complicates the whole procedure. But the real problem is that I've been working my ass off, literally, to get to this point for three long years now. As you all know, I have had to struggle to totally reinvent myself. I thought he understood how important this was to me. I told him repeatedly he had to call and doublecheck during his 3 weeks notice before his termination date. But he brushed me off, thinking he's right, and didn't even give me the respect of taking 10 minutes to make a simple call to the HR dept. And that makes me sad and angry and not like him very much. And I have to admit, I wonder if he just doesn't respect me, or if he is subconciously trying to sabatoge me. I would have never done this to him.
