My baby is only 6 months, but yesterday I was talking about this very

thing with a friend who is a pediatrician. Her step children walked

at 16 and 18 months and her husband walked at 26 months. He was

tested and they never found anything wrong. She recently had a

patient who wasn't walking at 16 monts, was only crawling. He broke

his arm and couldn't crawl as easily and within a week he was

walking.

by himself. Yes, he was almost 3 months premature, but still. I'm

beginning to worry. He's been cruising around furniture and walking

behind a scooter and holding fingers for as long as I can remember.

However, as soon as I let go he sits down.

foot turns out pretty far to the left and his right foot is straight

forward. He was bilateral clubfoot, with the right being a little

stiffer than the left. It appears he also is dragging the left foot

a little. He doesn't do it all the time though. When I walk him

through the grass he picks up both feet equally.

Jakob was 3 days shy of 19 months when he finally took off walking. He

also cruised for many many months. I can remember him nearly running

behind a push toy while wearing his brace when my mom was visiting. She

was duly impressed. When Jakob took off, there was no stopping him. At

nearly 8 years old, you'd never be able to tell he was such a " late " walker.

My younger son, , took off walking just a month ago - he's almost

17 months old now and did not have clubfoot. He walked holding our

fingers for what seemed like forever. He would also fall to the floor

right away if we let go.
