Guest guest
I'd go the most gradual route myself. I'll also say when I reached that point from 23 to 18-20'ish hours, it was SOOO hard to put them back on at all! He didn't fight me, I just loved the free time and hated to see it end. s. Re: Re: Brace hours Oh, believe me, I know! Dr. Ponseti told me 18/24, but I see others are going to 20/24 after the 3 months. This is why I ask! He told me in this order... 22/24 for 3 months 18/24 for 2 years 16/24 for 6 months 12/14 until she is 4-5 depending on the degree of stiffness So thats alot different than most peoples! This is why I ask. Not because she has to wear the braces alot longer, but more wondering is I should do the 20/24 befor ethe 18/24 __________________________________________________
Guest guest
Hi Christee, We were told this 3 years ago when I emailed Dr Ponseti (he might have adjusted the times by now of course): 23h/day for first 3 months, then 18h/day until cruising (= 17 months old in our case), then 14-16h/day until 2 years old, then 12h/day until 3 or 4 years old (he only told me this after I emailed him again with some pictures when Alister was 2 years old). Hope this helps at all, with (3y) and Alister (3y, RCF, Ponseti method, UK) --- Christee wrote: > Oh, believe me, I know! Guest guest
Christee, He may have told you a different schedule due to the degree of difficulty of your child's foot. I have noticed on this board that Dr. Ponseti occasionally gives different hours to different people based on their child's case. I am sure that he told you what he did for a reason.
