Hi Kate.

Thanks for your reply. Good luck with the braces. I haven't had braces

before... I asked my parents if it was too late to ask for my orthodontic

parental benefit at 40!! My 14 year old daughter is wearing braces. I feel

like others will think I'm going through a mid-life crisis =)

What type of surgery are you having? Any idea when? I'm having lower surgery

for sure...upper is still in question. We'll see what the braces take care

of. I'm thinking surgery will be in about a year. Reading some of these

posts, I'm starting to think my open bite and misaligned jaw maybe aren't

quite so bad afterall =)

Good luck with insurance. I have a six page questionnaire that I have to

fill out for the surgeon to send in w/my insurance request. The surgeon's

office said not to get too hopeful that insurance will cover anything. It

just amazes me that my open bite (teeth only touching in the very back and

then not aligned well at all) and limited opening is okay...would be

cosmetic. That's why I decided to take out the line of credit...if I need

it, the money is there. I want to get my jaw problem taken care of now and

didn't want to have to wait on insurance.

Take care,

Diane
