Guest guest Posted June 23, 2003 Report Share Posted June 23, 2003 It just so happens I talked with a nutritionist at my local health food store about flaxseed a couple of days ago. Yes, flaxseed had to be ground or else the seeds will pass through your intestines whole. However, the nutritionist said ground flaxseed doesn't provide as much benefit as taking the oil, 1 tbsp. per day. He suggested taking the oil and use the flaxseed as a supplement to get optimal results. Vicki A. > Tammy Pruit. The flax seed is to be ground and 1 tbs per day is what my doc ordered...I sometimes do more. I have found a coffee grinder is the best thing to use, I use it for coffee and the flax seed.
