It just so happens I talked with a nutritionist at my local health

food store about flaxseed a couple of days ago. Yes, flaxseed had to

be ground or else the seeds will pass through your intestines whole.

However, the nutritionist said ground flaxseed doesn't provide as

much benefit as taking the oil, 1 tbsp. per day. He suggested taking

the oil and use the flaxseed as a supplement to get optimal results.

what my doc ordered...I sometimes do more. I have found a coffee

grinder is the best thing to use, I use it for coffee and the flax

seed. Walmart 19.95 but they do have some cheaper. Good Luck, Carol
