Guest guest
Thanks for everyone's kind words when I found out needed to have a helmet for his plagiocephaly. We are almost done with our first week & he is doing much better with it than I am. It doesn't seem to bother him one bit. I did notice yesterday that when I removed the helmet he had severe heat rash on his cheeks and on his forehead. The orthotist told us this could happen as his body adjusts to the helmet but it is still so upsetting to see. What do some of you do to help treat or prevent this kind of rash? Also, when does the whole thing seem easier? I am still so overwhelmed by not seeing his soft little head and snuggling up to him anymore. I absolutely know that we are doing the right thing & have no regrets moving forward with this therapy, but I am so grieving this loss and don't know how to make it thru 4 possible months. And to hear that some people needed multiple bands terrifies me. Why is this? I thought once his head shaped and closed this was permanent? Sorry for all the questions but I am still trying to navigate being a new mom and a new mom to a 7 month old with torticollis and plagiocephaly. Thanks again for all the support. It has been so useful reading the posts. Geanine mom to who is currently in week one of his Starband
