Guest guest
A revision? At 15 months post op you have done quite well and you aren't done yet! Some of us just lose slower. I hadn't lost 100 pounds at 1 year post op and I am now 4.5 years post op with a BMI of 22/23 and I've been at this size/weight for about a year and a half. Statistically speaking, you have lost more than half your excess weight so you are considered a success. The average WLS patient loses and maintains a loss of 70% of the excess weight. The difference between a distal and proximal RNY is something like 4% more weight loss in a distal patient. Major surgery is not worth another 5 or 6 pounds. If there is something mechanically wrong, then it should be fixed. If there is nothing wrong, you just need to be persistent and patient. Only eat when you are physically hungry (do not wait to the point of starving or you will release hormones that slow your metabolism down) and your body will take care of the excess weight. I know this is true because I didn't exercise, purposely restrict carbohydrates and/or calories, and I didn't have to go on protein fasts or anything else to contimnue losing weight for 3 years post op. Don't give up or throw in the towel, you can do this. ) Vick in CA > Okay, I am now at 15 months post-op. I have lost a total of 108.75 lbs.
