CST or Helmet?

My son has mild brachycephaly (flatter across the back) He is 7

months old. I recently heard that in some mild plagio cases it is

better to do CST alone vs. getting a helmet. Has anyone else heard

this?

Also for those who do the CST at this age how often are they seen for

treatment sessions?

I would go with both. Try and see a cranial Osteopath, to do CST. once a week should be sufficient and less if that is what he/she recommends. Everyone I know in the community recommends both they can work symbioticly. If anyone tells you that the helmet will interfere w/ CST that is a good sign they are not on the up and up.From: shastindog <shastindog@...>Subject: CST or Helmet?Plagiocephaly Date: Thursday, October 9, 2008, 9:03 AM

Hi Cheryl,

I have heard of CST helping, but from what i know it isn't as " proven "

as banding. I would probably do both unless the brachy is really mild.

My daughter had brachy and it took a long time to correct. She was

severe starting at 96% and ended at 85%, but in her case it took 5 mo

starting at 5 mo old(starband). Brachy can take a bit longer than

plagio it seems to me.
