Surgery in 2 weeks

Hi guys!

I've posted on here before but not for a few weeks/months. I'm due

to have upper/lower/genio and my lower wisdom teeth out on 1st

February.

I'm getting a bit nervous but reading all the messages on here

always helps there. It's so nice to come somewhere where people

understand what you're having done and why and don't look at you as

if you are mad.

I saw my surgeon last week, and met the anaesthetist too (sorry -

really don't know if that's spelt right!). The surgeon sounded like

he wasn't sure about the upper surgery anymore. He's definitely not

sure about the genio. From what I gather it basically depends on

what he thinks once I'm actually in there being operated on. It

would be nice to wake up and find out that I just had lower surgery

and my wisdom teeth out but I think that is just wishful thinking.

The anaesthetist was really nice. He described the whole operation

to me, with a lot more detail than the surgeon. He reckoned that

I'll be given liquidised steak and chips for my meals after the

surgery! How mad is that? I won't believe that till I see/taste it!

My mum seems to be more worried about me having my wisdom teeth out.

She says " but how will you be able to see that your mouth is healing

properly " , refering to the holes where the wisdom teeth came out. I

think I'll be more worried about the rest of my mouth healing! I've

had teeth out before and didn't have any problems so I guess the

wisdom teeth should be OK too.

My parents can't decide when they're going to come over to France

from the UK to see me. They were going to wait until a couple of

weeks after the surgery but now it looks like they'll come over a

couple of days after I come out of the clinic. I'll probably be

really glad to see them but I kind of feel that I might not want

anyone to see me with my hamster face!

Anyway... my boyfriend just asked me if I'm writing a novel cos this

message is sooo long! Sorry and thanks for reading to the end!

Good luck to you all!

.
