Guest guest
I try my best not to eat fast foods. But, if I'm stuck in that position, I tend to order grilled chicken w/NO dressings or veggies... Just plain old grilled chicken then throw away the bun. I stay away from all fried foods. 203 / 193 / 147(+/-2) Lazo wrote: Can someone please give me some ideas of what things we can eat out post op. Guest guest
Depends on some different factors. Are you talking about fast food, or diners, or restaurants? Most of the fast food chains now have more and more salads with chicken and stuff like that. For breakfast, I occasionally have a single Macs breakfast burrito. Eggs, some salsa and sausage, wrapped up in a tortilla. Before my surgery, I would not have thought that was more than a bite or two, but now it is plenty to fill me up. Also, get one of the restaurant cards from the bariatric program where you have your surgery. Most people just think in terms of the children's menu, but places like Carrows also have a senior's menu, which is usually the same menu choices as the regular, but smaller portions and sometimes more flexibility in choice of side dishes. Substituting veggies instead of the potatoes, stuff like that. You can also frequently find something reasonable in the appetizer sections. Things like fried calamari, shrimp cocktail, steamed clams, buffalo wings, etc. are often good options. I love the appetizer sections of menus. If it's an option for you, take home leftovers for dinner. I always have one of those little sharpie markers on my keyring for labelling the containers with the contents and the date. That way I can tell when I'm looking in my fridge what's what. Sometimes I end up throwing it away, and that's okay. Hope that helps! >Can someone please give me some ideas of what >things we can eat out post op. Guest guest
I think everyone gave good ideas, i like to order chinese and i get war wonton soup that has meat and shrimp and some veggies and the broth is good, if the others in my family have like dishes with meat i pick the meat out and it seems to work out. I do taco bell salads, i am not into eating lettece much yet but i eat the meat cheese beans salsa and i dont eat the shell. Also i get the mcdonalds cobb salad and eat the grilled chicken cheese and some of the veggies with a litttle dressing. Like Eleanor i sometimes order off the appetizer menu or i wait and see what everyone else is eating and then i mouch off a bite or two of their stuff and dont order anything. I always have someone at home to eat what i dont finish if i order something on my own. good luck Lazo wrote: Can someone please give me some ideas of what things we can eat out post op.
